From an email message today:
Evil (ignorance) is like a shadow — it has no real substance of its own, it is simply a lack of light. You cannot cause a shadow to disappear by trying to fight it, stamp on it, by railing against it, or any other form of emotional or physical resistance. In order to cause a shadow to disappear, you must shine light on it. — Shakti Gawain

This is just a bunch of words. What one man considers evil, another man considers pious. I am glad that this person you have quoted was not the british prime minister during World War II. I am glad someone was willing to fight the Nazis. To stamp on Hitler and rail against Fascism. I am glad that George C. Scott was an ‘A**hole’ in that movie and not just some swami trying to find an inner harmony with a turbulent and shadowy world.
