I also like this cartoon about the brilliance of Karl Rove. And this one, on a long eight years.

my friend:
yes, seen your cartoon entry, complete.
YES, i have no doubt that Mr. McCain’s ‘war record’ is both authentic and exempliary. the man has experienced things that i cannot imagine. credit where credit is due…
BUT ALSO YES:
same war record in itself does not necessarily make for good qualifications as a chief executive. keep in mind that perhaps there are lingering ghosts from that time, a’la PTSS… which could be a factor in judgement calls by someone who is called upon to make decisions on a ‘now’ basis…
Even a good war horse can be driven into the ground, rode too long.
which might be the case here.
at the very least, i think Mr. McCain needs to leave the issue alone, let it speak for itself to those that deem it significant.
one can brag too much about survivng past bad news.
my dad was a warrior, too. he seen lotsa bad shitty stuff in the 1940’s. I KNOW it had ‘some’ effect on him. in point of fact, he admited same to me once.
i have an elderly lady relative that ‘survived’ cancer in the late 1960’s. at the cost of variety body parts. 40 YEARS AGO.
She is known far and wide for telling and re-telling same ‘survival’ story at ANY group event, LONG having rode her own sad story horse into the ground. people tend to avoid her, when possible. don’t wanna hear about it again… and again… and again… and again…
