From the 1934 movie Six of a Kind, W.C. Fields tells how he got the name of “Honest John.”
Seems it would have been tough to stand by while Fields worked and keep a straight face.

I was at the Magic Castle in Hollywood Hills, California this past Saturday and saw W.C. Fields pool table!
This was the actual pool table used in the film Six of A Kind. The pool table is in the W.C. Fields bar in the basement level of the Castle, along with other W.C. Fields memorabilia.
I was in LA to view the new W.C. Fields exhibit at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Wilshire Blvd. The exhibit was quite impressive. This is a must see for fans of the great W.C. Fields. The exbitit runs thru April 15th and contains hundreds of posters, programs, letters, photographs, video presentations.
