		<description>It is too early to defend every word that is produced by a presidential candidate, like it was chiseled at the base of that candidate's monument some fifty years hence.

Part of the campaign process is to determine how well a candidate can recover from his or her own perceived gaffes. Obama made a perceived gaffe and then tried to recover by 'swinging for the fences'.

Avoid the urge to become a 'knee-jerk' Obama supporter. This will be the most important presidential election since 2004,
and we can't afford to have a candidate who seems like a 'deer caught in the headlights' every time the going gets tough.
